It’s been called the year of the Constitutionalist. The Republican field of candidates for President have been busy positioning themselves as strict upholders of the Constitution.

They’ve also been asked by Morality in Media to make statements supporting anti-pornography legislation and three of the leading GOP candidates – Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney -  have done just that.  But is this a contradiction? The Constitution’s First Amendment guarantees the right of free speech and it does not grant Congress any power to regulate or criminalize obscenity.

“The stream of deportations under the Obama administration is considerably higher than in the Bush years – and that makes no sense at all.” – Ellis Henican

The case of Jakadrien Turner – a fourteen year old Texas teenage runaway deported to Colombia in May of last year after giving a false name to Dallas police – has focused attention on the issue of Immigration and Deportation.

Family members said immigration officials can say all they want, but ultimately they deported a teenaged U.S. citizen who doesn’t even speak Spanish to Colombia, where she knows no one.

“She looks like a kid, she acts like a kid. How could they think she wasn’t a kid?”  asked the teen’s grandmother Lorene Turner.

The child was finally returned to her worried family in the United States on Friday, January 6th.

Newt Gingrich has been telling anyone and everyone that he’s out for revenge and plans to begin negative attacks against Mitt Romney. Gingrich blames Romney for his fast falling numbers in the polls, saying it was a slew of negative ads that brought him down.
