HERE SHE COMES TO SAVE THE DAY
“Aren’t we better off getting into the (U.N.) arena and debating, being a full partner—not being some cheapskate that won’t pay its bills?” – Ellis Henican
Ellis Henican on ‘Freedom Watch’ reacts to House Republicans introducing legislation that would allow the US to withold some of its 22% contribution to the UN operating budget – favoring instead a voluntary payment that would include the right to pick and choose which projects to fund.
Ellis- It is difficult for me to create a definitive answer about the efficacy of continuing the UN. As you now I grew up in New York and as kids we always thought of all those parking tickets that could not be collected. I think that making a UN cut is in simplistic fashion just like any other cut. We have a 15 trillion deficit and we are going to have to cut that down whether it’s the UN or Planned Parenthood or NPR.Every attempt the GOP makes to slice there will be supporters stating their case not to. If this is the way things go we will amount to a debtor nation soon.I know that the UN is a highly divided and political arena.Peace keepers from Guam go to Greenland. Congress will have to decide, I remember the 6th grade tour.
