The White House announced that a late surge of insurance seekers to HealthCare.gov before Monday’s deadline had pushed signups to 7.1 million, almost precisely the administration’s original goal.
Considering the website’s technical-nightmare start, reaching that goal is a very big achievement. Sure, there are people who still didn’t get on before the deadline, but it won’t take much “proof” that they at least tried for the very motivated administration to welcome them aboard.
