Ellis- America has always been a society of the have’s and have not’s. I am in full favor as most Americans are of helping everybody put food on the table. The poverty level in this country is currently approaching its highest level and yet the food banks are not full. That means for the most part there are homeless families wandering around like nomads with nothing to eat. The tone of your article suggests helping hordes of people with respect to different issues.I suggest we proceed but going up the ladder rungs starting from the bottom, people who have nothing. When it comes to providing more for those that can at least stand up straight we must not fall prey to those who can work so we do not face the untenable situation where we cannot fund the verified needy.
