“Capitalism unfettered is not the answer – we need sensible regulations.” – Ellis Henican
Vernon Hill, founder of Commerce Bank, has opened a bank in Great Britain – claiming that the U.S. government is over regulating and forcing business to go elsewhere. He tells John Stossel that the regulatory environment here is over whelming, micromanaged and destructive to growth.
Ellis Henican reminds Mr. Hill that most of these regulations were put into place after the banks nearly destroyed the American economy and suggests that if banks want fewer regulations they have to start behaving responsibly.
As for other business being “regulated to death”, Ellis asks John Stossel how to explain Apple, Microsoft and the thousands of other success stories.
